Letter #11: Memories

Dear Sister,

I flipped through the photos on my phone today.

The first time I did this I couldn’t get out of bed for the pain. What?! You were seeing her when we were on this trip? When you had your arm around me at our kid’s game?

This two parts anguish and rage would envelop me with an indescribable pain that you completely understand, dear sister. This time however, I scrolled the photos from a different starting point~the day of discovery through today.

What I found were images of beloved friends who carried me and notes from my Bible where I had underlined verses that spoke truth to me. I watched myself make the long journey towards hope. Wherever you are on this uninvited journey, God is with you and He will carry you. Give him your broken heart. Remember He is faithful and true when others are not. He is worthy of our trust.

With love,

Your friend on the journey
